EDUCATION
SPARTAN IN EDUCATION. While the research versions of Spartan (Spartan'24 Parallel Suite) are commonly used in teaching, Wavefunction also offers two programs specifically developed for use in education, ODYSSEY Student Edition and Spartan Student Edition.
ODYSSEY is a molecular visualization tool built from the ground up to support the teaching (and learning) of concepts fundamental to General Chemistry. With content customization ranging from introductory and first year high school chemistry, to AP and university level General Chemistry, ODYSSEY harnesses the power of molecular dynamics calculations to provide an interactive environment for learning and exploration.
Spartan Student Edition is a powerful, student-focused molecular modeling program. Combining Spartan's easy-to-use graphical interface with a targeted subset of computational methods, the Student Edition provides fundamental molecular modeling utilities supporting the Organic, Physical, and Inorganic Chemistry curriculum.
Both Spartan Student Edition and ODYSSEY Student Edition are available for purchase by students or academic institutes. Academic licenses are available either as permanent lab licensing (installed in a campus computer lab or specific faculty machines) or as an annual campus-wide site license, providing unlimited access to the Student Edition and additional access to Spartan'24 Parallel Suite in the case of Spartan Student and ODYSSEY Instructor Edition in the case of ODYSSEY Student. Many text books offer optional bundles of either Spartan Student Edition or ODYSSEY Student Edition, contact your publisher for more information. Student purchases receive a significant student discount, and must be installed on student owned machines.
